Every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday throughout the Fall & Winter, the Home Smith Bar at the Old Mill Toronto showcases some of the most important entertainers on today’s jazz scene performing for your pleasure in the cozy intimacy of one of Toronto’s best-loved lounges.
Steve McDade (trumpet / flugelhorn) has become an integral name on the list of top Canadian trumpet players. McDade has been a member of Manteca and The Boss Brass since the 1980′s, touring the world with both bands and playing on their Grammy and JUNO Award-winning recordings. He has performed in major jazz festivals all over the world with Rob McConnell and The Boss Brass and as a member of The Rob McConnell Tentet.
McDade has played and recorded with some of the biggest names, ensembles, bands, and orchestras on the international arts and entertainment scene including Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, Doc Severinsen, Diana Krall, Mel Torme, Ella Fitzgerald, The Toronto Symphony, Manhattan Transfer, and worked and recorded with Doc Kupka of Tower of Power.
This evening’s all-star STEVE McDADE QUARTET features jazz masters STEVE McDADE on trumpet and flugelhorn, ROBI BOTOS on piano, SCOTT ALEXANDER (bass), and DAVIDÉ DiRENZO (drums), entertaining in the up-close-and-personal ambience of the Home Smith Bar.
