Every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday throughout the Fall and Winter, The Home Smith Bar at the Old Mill Toronto showcases some of the most important entertainers on today’s jazz scene performing for your pleasure in the cozy intimacy of one of Toronto’s best-loved lounges.
Internationally-acclaimed jazz vocalist and recording artist IRENE ATMAN continues to enjoy critical praise and solid air-play for her most recent CD release, “Long Distance”, a collaboration with musicians from Toronto, Australia, New York and Los Angeles.
Atman’s incredible dynamic range, her gifted phrasing, and a cool and enticing style has engendered critical raves calling her “…a rising star among women in jazz…” with “…a voice that was divined to sing jazz …a timeless elegance…a voice that can make the hardest soul melt…”.
She has toured North America, Europe, Australia, China, Japan, Thailand, and Holland, and in New York and Toronto jazz clubs closer to home, performed with luminaries including Guido Basso, Peter Appleyard, and Tony Bennett.
This evening’s singing star IRENE ATMAN features DANNY McERLAIN on piano and DAVE YOUNG on bass, entertaining in the up-close-and-personal ambience of the Home Smith Bar.
