One of Canada’s most recognizable voices in jazz, Tia Brazda brings her cheerful brand of vintage jazz-pop to The Old Mill. Brazda’s jazz-pop gems and retro style have established her as a unique presence both at home in Canada and abroad. Not only a singer, but a songwriter as well, she has performed at the Montreux Jazz Festival and Festival International de Jazz de Montreal, as well as toured around the world, from intimate supper clubs to large outdoor festivals. Her music has been described as a “hip pastiche” and a “walking catalog of 20th century jazz styles”. Her first single “Cabin Fever” broke through in 2012 and she followed that up with the 2015 full-length Bandshell, named as one of the best of the decade in the Italian press and one of the best of the year by Jazz FM 91 in Toronto. Her new album When I Get Low was reviewed in JazzTimes and JazzJournal in the UK, and featured on Radio France nationally.
