SOPHIA PERLMAN, Juno Award-winning singing star, widely respected as one of the brightest young lights on the national jazz scene, and her multi-talented life partner ADREAN FARRUGIA, known as one of Canada’s most distinct piano voices, co-host another THURSDAY NIGHT JAZZ PARTY.
Tonight, jazz masters MARK GODFREY (bass) and drummer LCHRIS WALLACE will help Adrean and Sophia keep the Party cookin’, along with SURPRISE GUESTS who’ll likely crash the bash!!
Recording artist and high soaring jazz and blues singing star SOPHIA PERLMAN sings on two Juno Award-winning albums; co-released her most recent recording “Sophia Perlman & Adrean Farrugia: Alive at Musideum” in 2012; tours Canada as a bandleader and clinician (The Vipers, PerlHaze); and is critically praised for her ‘musical maturity’ and ‘impressive improvisational ability’.
Renowned pianist ADREAN FARRUGIA performs with legendary jazz names in major cities around the world; member of Brandi Disterheft’s 2008 Juno-winning band; 2011 Juno nominee; currently pianist for the renowned Matt Dusk Band, the Darcy Hepner Big Band, NYC saxophonist Quinsin Nachoff’s ‘Forward Motion’, the Bob Brough Quartet, Chicago trumpet virtuoso Brad Goode’s Quartet, RaviNaimpally’s Indo-Jazz fusion band ‘Tasa’, the Ernesto Cervini Quartet, the Jason Logue Sextet, and ‘The Worst Pop Band Ever’.
