Vocalist SHERIE MARSHALL‘s wide-ranging and stunningly beautiful vocal delivery have delighted audiences across Canada and internationally for more than 20 years, leading her own ensembles and appearing at festivals and on concert stages with some of the country’s best-loved bandleaders.

Her first professional experience was singing background vocals in venues across Canada for American Gospel, Rhythm & Blues, and jazz vocalist Tobi Lark.  Marshall founded her own group fusing funk, soul, pop, reggae, and Soca producing the single “Steppin’ Out”, establishing herself as a mainstay on the Toronto music scene.

In addition to opening for Harry Belafonte, The Smothers Brothers, and Rich Little, she has sung background for George Oliver, Jack DeKeyser, reggae artist Mojah, and Jacksoul at the Canadian Urban Music Awards, and more recently, has been the long-time featured vocalist for saxophonist Patricia Wheeler’s jazz octet, “The Absolute Faith Orchestra”. Sherie Marshall’s unique vocal style reflects influences from Rhythm & Blues, Soul, and Jazz, creating an original artistic blend that has enthralled audiences everywhere.

She is currently a faculty member at York University.

This evening’s singing star SHERIE MARSHALL features MIKE CADÓ on guitar, PAT WHEELER (saxophone), and PAT COLLINS on bass, entertaining in the up-close-and-personal intimacy of the Home Smith Bar.
