Captivating vocalist, composer, lyricist and pianist, MICHELE MELE has garnered a reputation as a masterful communicator, able to create melodies and lyrics that resonate deeply in the heart and soul of the listener.
She has released six albums of original material, which have graced the playlists of more than 50 jazz and smooth jazz stations in the U.S, as well as Canada and internationally. She has written and starred in her one-woman show Naked On The Rocks which was well received in Toronto and New York. As the creator and host of YouTube cooking and music series, “Michele in the Kitchen”, she teaches the audience the beauty of home cooking and also performs her original tunes.
Michele initiated and curates a home concert series bringing world renowned musicians to the audience in an intimate setting. An artist of many mediums, she created/composed the musical, “Universe in a Kiss” which fuses the intersection of music, circus and science. Most recently, Michele created and curated SUNBURST FESTIVAL, with a mandate “to honour and promote young (under 30 years of age) professional musicians and visual artists who are carrying the legacy of art and culture into the future”. The highly successful inaugural concert, featured four bands and four visual artists, representative of varying genres.
In her trio ROBERM, Mele has brought together jazz giants Bernie Senensky and Robi Botos to form a unique fun-filled ensemble. The Michele Mele Band includes Canada’s top jazz musicians and features original tunes and standard favorites. This evening’s MICHELE MELE TRIO with BERNIE SENENSKY (piano) and NEIL SWAINSON (bass) offers swinging standards, beautiful ballads, and engaging originals.
