Tonight we feature chart-topping R&B recording artist MICHAEL DUNSTON. Long revered as a leader in the ‘soul revolution’, he’s a multiple ‘Wave Awards’ nominee, who’s been dubbed ‘a ballad’s best friend’ by respected peers.  His impressive career resume includes notable work in film including a starring role as Bo Diddley.

He is a writer, performer, and producer who collaborated with ‘Urban Music Award’ winning guitarist Andrew Scott, who enthused “Michael is someone who channels the whole history of male R&B vocals when he sings.  This is someone who can light up a room like almost no other performer.”‘

And he has definitely brought the goods to “My Love,” his latest EP for Boomtang Records.  With a honeyed voice that has earned him the respect of industry peers, Dunston has dropped what are certain to become Urban, R&B and Soul radio staples in “Soul Revolution,” “Turn the Lights down Low” and the EP’s title track, “My Love.”

“…Michael Dunston has a smooth, unfaltering voice very much like Donny Hathaway’s.  He expertly sets up his songs, creating the mood with a voice that transitions cleanly into song. And he certainly has a way with a lyric. When he sings, you listen to what he is saying…”     (The Live Music Report)

This evening’s singing star MICHAEL DUNSTON features jazz greats BERNIE SENENSKY on piano and DAVE YOUNG on bass, entertaining in the up-close-and-personal intimacy of the Home Smith Bar.
