Born and raised in a family of dedicated and talented musicians, it’s no surprise LENNY SOLOMON’s jazz violin virtuosity has played a significant role in bringing what was considered a classical instrument into new, popular genres. Lenny’s career has been evolving through the decades. His cutting edge rock violin was featured in the Juno Award winning duo Myles and Lenny. Then, playing with the pop string quintet Quintessence he returned to a more traditional violin sound.  During this time he established himself as a popular and versatile studio musician playing on hundreds of recordings and soundtracks. In the ‘90s, he released two well received jazz CDs, After You’ve Gone and The Gershwin Sessions, and has toured extensively with the Lenny Solomon Trio.  A three-time winner of The Jazz Report’s annual Violinist of The Year award, he also won a SOCAN #1 Award for the video of his composition “Fernanda” with Trio-Norte.

Solomon’s mega production, Bowfire – composed of virtuoso string players at the forefront of their respective styles, toured internationally from 2000 – 2015. Bowfire made its debut performance at Expo 2000 in Hannover, Germany. The group was subsequently invited to perform on the Governor-General’s Awards telecast. In 2008, Bowfire filmed their PBS broadcast special, Bowfire ‘Live’ and continues to be broadcast internationally.  His most recent release The Blues Violin is a collection of original compositions in a variety of blues settings.  During his prolific career, Lenny Solomonhas also enjoyed writing and arranging. www.lennysolomon.com.
