He has performed as a guest artist with symphony orchestras across North America, and entertained for heads of state and royalty. He was the featured soloist in the hit musical ‘Fosse’ where he recreated Benny Goodman’s legendary performance of ‘Sing, Sing, Sing’ at Carnegie Hall, and in 2008, DeAngelis’s own 50-piece Champagne Symphony staged a triumphant Carnegie Hall concert in New York when they performed in 70th anniversary celebration of Goodman’s groundbreaking 1938 concert there.
For this evening’s performance, the vacationing Bob DeAngelis marks the continuation of his monthly residency at the Home Smith Bar by showcasing four of the swing scene’s most talented players, led by trombone virtuoso DAN DOUGLAS, with STEVE CROWE on trumpet, TONY ZORSI on guitar, and bassist JACK McFADDEN.
