BEN DWYER is a young bass and saxophone phenom who grew up in a musical household on Vancouver Island. The son of jazz saxophone icon Phil Dwyer, Ben has lived in Montreal since 2011, where he studied and worked with some of the city’s finest musicians, and just recently moved to Toronto.
Though very much rooted in jazz, Ben is a versatile bassist with a strong sense of feel, melody, and sound production. This has led him to perform around the world with some great artists of different genres.
His trio consists of TED CROSBY on reeds and JAKE WIENS on guitar and is an offshoot group of a 6-piece band called Nomad, which has been together since 2012.
