A Tribute to Ella Fitzgerald and The Great American Songbook…
A Night of Great Songs and Great Dancing
The Advocats Big Band has entertained Toronto audiences for almost three decades with its repertoire of some of the most beloved big band music spanning the past 70 years, having played at many notable venues such as the Beaches International Jazz Festival, the Sunday Concert Series at the Scarborough Civic Centre and Mel Lastman Square Sunday Serenades, the Silver Ball, Eat to the Beat, and The Rex Hotel. The band has evolved over the years to now include many top professional musicians and music educators whose collective experience range from work in recording studios, theatre, film, television, to major symphony orchestras, night clubs and chamber music. The Advocats Big Band was a mainstay at the Chick’N’Deli (Seven44 Restaurant & Lounge) for 15 years, performing on the first Monday of every month. The band continues to carry on this popular tradition at its new home, The Duke Live, demonstrating its fantastic appeal to both dancers and listeners alike.
Come out and join us for a great evening of dining and dancing at The Old Mill Toronto as we pay tribute to one of the greatest vocalists in the history of jazz, Ella Fitzgerald, and The Great American Songbook!
