Friday May 27, A Sondheim Jazz Project comes to the Old Mill with fresh and thrilling jazz arrangements of beautiful songs by the American theatre’s greatest songwriter, Stephen Sondheim. Both longtime Sondheim devotees and jazz fans previously unfamiliar with his work have fallen in love with this band over the years. A Sondheim Jazz project features five of Toronto’s most prominent mid-career musicians: Bobby Hsu (arranger/curator), Alex Samaras (voice), Adrean Farrugia (piano), James McEleney (bass) and Morgan Childs (drums).

Praise for their album, City of Strangers:
Best jazz albums of 2014, honourable mention—Francis Davis, NPR
