End of a Dance Era

A Salute to 99 Years – 1914-2013

On August 4, 1914, Toronto entrepreneur Robert Home Smith opened The Old Mill Tea Room. Live music was introduced in The Print Room in 1921, followed by the addition of the dance hall in 1929, where a nine-piece orchestra entertained six nights a week.

The dinner and dancing tradition continues to this very day with only slight refinements over the years to embrace the changing music preferences of the times.

Come out and ‘cut a rug’ on the historic dance floor and join us for our “End of a Dance Era’ Celebration to music of decades past and present and enter to win a Cunard Cruise!

Celebrating from September – December 2013 starting with The Big Band Tribute to Glenn Miller and ending with the  New Year’s Eve Celebration Tribute to Neil Diamond and Tom Jones, and of course everything in between!
