Zoe Chilco Quartet

First Tuesday and every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday throughout the Winter, The Home Smith Bar at the Old Mill Toronto showcases some of the most important entertainers on today’s jazz scene performing for your pleasure in the cozy intimacy of one of Toronto’s best-loved lounges.

Award-winning singer/songwriter ZOE CHILCO performs jazz standards, originals, and blues with the kind of soul and swing that make an evening in her company an event which is both unique and familiar.  She has been singing and recording across the GTA and throughout Ontario for a number of years, while also maintaining a schedule of international appearances in Barcelona, Portugal, the Derry Jazz Festival in Ireland, and Mexico’s San Pancho Music Festival.

She has released 10 collections of her own songs, garnering critical comment lauding her voice as “…velvety and romantic…but at the same time, full of power…”  In 2015, the launch of Chilco’s “DecaDance” CD sold-out Toronto’s Hugh’s Room, and her songs continue to enjoy sales around the world online.

She is currently working on a revival of her “Zootcase” theatre piece — a loving and intimate tribute to great jazz saxophonist Zoot Sims, their relationship, and her original songs in homage to him — and planning toward a 2017 European Tour of the show.

This evening’s singing star ZOE CHILCO features jazz masters DANNY McERLAIN on piano, JOHN DEEHAN (saxophone), and RON JOHNSTON on bass, entertaining in the up-close-and-personal ambience of the Home Smith Bar.
