Every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday throughout the Spring, the Home Smith Bar at the Old Mill Toronto showcases some of the most important instrumentalists and leading vocalists on today’s jazz scene in the cozy intimacy of one of Toronto’s best-loved lounges.
Toronto-based jazz and pop singer VINCENT WOLFE is respected as one of the most original and promising interpreters of song on the current jazz/cabaret/big band scenes. With an impressive career history highlighted by three successful albums (Trust the Vibe, Until Tomorrow, and Weaver of Dreams), hundreds of club, concert, and festival dates across North America, South America, and Europe, and two years entertaining aboard cruise ships on the high seas, he has been delighting big band enthusiasts for the last three years, crooning with both the Bob Cary Orchestra and the George Lake Big Band.
Legendary cabaret diva Julie Wilson and Manhattan Transfer founding member Laurel Massé have likened Wolfe’s vocal style to that of jazz icon Mel Tormé, and the Toronto Star’s review of his first album compared his sound to Johnny Hartman. Vincent Wolfe currently leads his own band, The VegasNorth Orchestra.
This evening’s all-star VINCENT WOLFE TRIO also features jazz masters PETER HILL on piano and JORDAN O’CONNOR on bass, entertaining in the up-close-and-personal ambience of The Home Smith Bar.
