Jazz vocalist SHANNON BUTCHER connects with her audiences not just with her outstanding voice, but also with her self-composed songs and re-imagined jazz arrangements of contemporary pop hits. After graduating from the University of Toronto, she became one-third of the vocal trio Swing Rosie, who garnered acclaim for their tight harmonies and high-energy performances, and has since established herself as a successful solo artist in the Canadian jazz community.
Butcher has released three albums, has performed at numerous festivals including the TD Toronto Jazz Festival, Burlington Sound of Music Festival, Orillia Jazz and Blues Festival, and has headlined theatre concerts and club dates throughout Canada. She has been the head of the Vocal Faculty at National Music Camp since 2008.
This evening’s singing star SHANNON BUTCHER features jazz masters ATTILA FIAS on piano, and ROSS MacINTYRE (bass), entertaining in the up-close-and personal ambience of the Home Smith Bar.
