Mark Eisenman

First Tuesday and every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday throughout the Winter, The Home Smith Bar at the Old Mill Toronto showcases some of the most important entertainers on today’s jazz scene performing for your pleasure in the cozy intimacy of one of Toronto’s best-loved lounges.

The award-winning piano mastery of MARK EISENMAN has made him an undisputed jazz eminence for over three decades entertaining as a professional musician.  He has performed and toured with renowned jazz artists including Woody Shaw, Art Farmer, Barney Kessel, Nat Adderley, Blue Mitchell, Ed Bickert, Rob McConnell, Lew Tabackin, Don Menza, and Pat LaBarbera. In 1999, Eisenman was named Jazz Report’s ‘Acoustic Pianist of the Year’.

“Mark Eisenman is a pianist of impressive idiomatic discipline, a bebopper in the swinging, mid-to-late fifties manner of the unsung Wynton Kelly and Sonny Clark, men who brought taste and technique to solos that were all snap and sparkle. Eisenman’s contribution to this classic school is a comfortably controlled level of invention, not so facile as to seem merely practiced, or so giddy as to turn everything into a romp…a musician of his own mind…a palpable sense of integrity to his interpretations of standards and obscurities alike…”   (Mark Miller, Globe and Mail)

Iconic jazz pianist MARK EISENMAN launches the 2017 “Year ‘Round Jazz Festival” with a solo performance illustrating why he’s among the best of the best, entertaining in the up-close-and-personal ambience of the Home Smith Bar.
