Every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday throughout the Winter, the Home Smith Bar at the Old Mill Toronto showcases some of the most important instrumentalists and leading vocalists on today’s jazz scene performing for your pleasure in the cozy intimacy of one of Toronto’s best-loved lounges.
A gifted young vocalist who lends her distinctive and versatile skills to a wide-ranging mix of jazz, blues, R‘n’B, soul, and pop music with equally excellent results, JORDANA TALSKY continues to celebrate the recent release of her critically-praised debut recording, “Standard Deviation”, a mix of pop and jazz standards, currently receiving airplay across Canada, the U.S.A., Europe, and Australia. The high-flying vocalist/songwriter has been turning heads (and ears) on the Toronto scene for a few years now, and in 2014, she was a finalist in the John Lennon Songwriting Competition for one of the album’s original tracks, “Panta Niwas”; a semi-finalist in the Sarah Vaughan International Vocal Competition; and runner-up for the Julian Award of Excellence for Emerging Canadian Artists (CJSF Radio, Simon Fraser University).
This evening’s stellar trio also features jazz masters SCOTT METCALFE on piano and MARK CASHION on bass, entertaining for your pleasure in the up-close-and-personal ambience of The Home Smith Bar
