Duncan Hopkins Trio

Every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, The Home Smith Bar is a showcase for some of the most important instrumentalists and outstanding singers on today’s jazz scene performing in the charming intimacy of one of Toronto’s best-loved lounges.

Tonight, we showcase double bassist, composer, and arranger DUNCAN HOPKINS, who has worked with dozens of international jazz luminaries over the past two decades.  He toured with Rob McConnell and ‘The Boss Brass’ for several years, and most recently, he has toured Europe with former Jazz Messenger Bobby Watson and continues to function as visiting professor at the Royal Academy of Music in London, England.  For the past ten years, he has been bassist for the respected Canadian Jazz Quartet, and is Artistic Director for the Niagara Jazz Festival. This evening, the Duncan Hopkins Trio also features PERRY WHITE on saxophones and ROB PILTCH on guitar, performing for your pleasure in the up-close-and-personal ambience of The Home Smith Bar.
