Dave Young Quartet

Every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday throughout the Fall and Winter, the Home Smith Bar at the Old Mill Toronto showcases some of the most important instrumentalists and leading vocalists on today’s jazz scene performing for your pleasure in the cozy intimacy of one of Toronto’s best loved lounges.

Multiple award-winning bassist DAVE YOUNG had a 35-year working relationship with jazz icon Oscar Peterson who called him “one of the most talented bassists on the jazz scene”. Young’s elegant performances throughout a five-year association with the late guitarist Lenny Breau are legendary. He has collaborated with all of the genre’s brightest luminaries, served as an educator on the faculties of this country’s most prestigious learning institutions, and thrilled audiences on recordings and in live concert everywhere leading his own bands and ensembles.   He was awarded the Order of Canada in 2007.

This evening’s all-star DAVE YOUNG QUARTET features jazz masters DAVE YOUNG (bass), GARY WILLIAMSON on piano, LANDEN VIERRA on saxophone, and TERRY CLARKE on drums, entertaining in the up-close-and-personal ambience of The Home Smith Bar.
