Brian Barlow Trio

Every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, The Home Smith Bar is a showcase for some of the most important instrumentalists and outstanding singers on today’s jazz scene performing in the charming intimacy of one of Toronto’s best-loved lounges.

Tonight, we feature acclaimed drummer, percussionist, and producer BRIAN BARLOW who has performed on Juno Award-nominated and Juno-winning recordings every year for 30 consecutive years.  He was a member of Rob McConnell’s “The Boss Brass” for 15 years, during which they were nominated for six Grammy Awards and a 1995 Grammy win.  He has collected three National Jazz Awards, been the featured drummer in multiple major theatrical productions, television specials and series, and performed as percussionist in dozens of leading feature films.  Barlow is the founding Creative Director of the widely respected Prince Edward County Jazz Festival. This evening’s all-star Trio also features piano master ROBI BOTOS and exemplary bassist KIERAN OVERS, performing for your pleasure in the up-close-and-personal ambience of The Home Smith Bar.
