Every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday throughout the Fall and Winter, the Home Smith Bar at the Old Mill Toronto showcases some of the most important instrumentalists on today’s jazz scene performing for your pleasure in the cozy intimacy of one of Toronto’s best loved lounges.
Award-winning pianist ADREAN FARRUGIA is regarded as one of Canada’s most distinctive voices on the piano. He is a JUNO nominee (2008 with Brandi Disterheft’s band) and JUNO winner (2010 for his own CD, ‘Ricochet’) who has performed with leading jazz names in every major city in North America, France, Switzerland, Poland, and Japan.
Since the late 1990s, Farrugia has been in high demand as both a performer and teacher. He is currently on the faculty of York University and Mohawk College of Arts and Technology where he teaches jazz piano and improvisation. He has also done workshops/clinics at the University of Colorado, University of Toronto, The University of Western Ontario, The Banff Centre for the Arts, and in Warsaw Poland as part of the Polish Jazz Society’s 35th annual Summer Jazz Workshop. He is a contributing writer to piano guru Larry Fine’s publication “The Piano Book”, the world’s foremost publication on all things piano.
This evening’s all-star ADREAN FARRUGIA TRIO features jazz masters ADREAN FARRUGIA (piano), PAT COLLINS on bass, and ERNESTO CERVINI on drums, entertaining in the up-close-and-personal ambience of The Home Smith Bar.
